Parliament of Canada - Communications Assistant (2008-2010)

I managed the high volume primary public e-mail account for a Member of Parliament and researched legislative issues to prepare speeches and written communications

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Alphabet City was a semi-finalist in the prestigious Austin Film Festival screenwriting competition for feature film scripts, as well as a quarter-finalist in the Page International Screenwriting Competition (2018), and a semi-finalist in the Golden Script Competition (2019)

  • From Sarajevo received awards for Best Director and Best Ensemble Acting at the Digi60 Film Festival, making me the first female ever to win the Best Director award. The film has also been named Official Selection in several film festivals around the world, including: Moscow Shorts, Chain NYC Film Festival, Barcelona Planet Film Festival, Creation International Film Festival, Detroit Shetown Film Festival, Women's Only Entertainment Film Festival, and the South Film and Arts Academy Festival, where it won Best War Short Film, Best Young Actress (Jaclyn Stewart), and Honorable Mentions for Cinematography (Caelan Benn) and Editing (Luc Lamarre).  (2017/2018)

  • The Liberation Front was named a Finalist in the Oaxaca Film Festival Global Script Challenge for feature scripts (2017)

  • Saint Charles Place has been named Official Selection in several international film festivals, including: Toronto Independent Film Festival,  Atlantic City Cinefest, Mirror Mountain Film Festival, Frostbite and (2017)

  • Moral Coding script placed 3rd at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival short script competition, and was quarter-finalist for the Screencraft script Competition (2015)

  • The Capital of Peace, a documentary I produced and directed in Sierra Leone, West Africa, was included in the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner (2010)
